I've just taken delivery of new to me 1300gs, I have always liked the flylead attached directly to the battery as I can power my compressor for tyre inflation.
The battery now being under seat I can't see an easy solution for routing and securing the lead to the bike, be interested in any solutions others have found.

Pablo, have mine under where the passenger seat would be. https://postimg.cc/fSZNGy88

How much did the bike cost ........ just shell out a few more squids for a new BMW branded charger, the latest multi-type job that covers lithium & plug in to the prescribed port.
Doesn’t help the OP for what he wants to do

I used to do the same but as the battery is easily accessible now I’ve just put the crocodile clips in with my airman pump, I’ll just pop the seat off and connect directly to the battery if I need to use it

Fair comment ..... it was mention of Optimate in the title, that concerned me, in case someone plugs in an inappropriate charger.

Your solution seems sensible & addresses that risk.

Not saying the bmw charger isnt a great item but to be clear Optimate 4 quad works absolutely fine on the 1300 using the dash socket, well it does on my plate 73 one. Early adopters of the bike have had problems using in the past, but a software update from bmw appears to have been applied to bikes, based on comms from optimate themselves. I believe there are plenty of us using now without any problems.

Aw fuck off ya dick, read the post.
Well replied, totally off topic and what tf does the price of the bike have to do with anything.
I will say that the BMW charger has been made unavailable in Canada and maybe US as well. I suspect a problem was discovered.
There should be no limit to where you can situate the lead. It's almost easier to access the battery terminals on the 13 as you don't have to slide the battery out to get both terminals. Lead may have to be a bit longer though.

inappropriate charger :) Optimate make chargers that are capable of charging lithium batteries through the din socket. I personally have now changed to the fly lead option.

As it happens I've fitted the lead today and indeed it was rather easy to find a suitable location, there is a slight gap behind main wiring loom where the lead can be dropped down and secured just above pillion footpeg bracket.
Thanks for all positive contributions .
