Been looking on here for weeks now, some really good reports and suggestions but can't decide - any help would be appreciated.

Off to France in June for Euro 2016 but avoiding Wales v England (why did we draw England!!). So in order to remain in good books I've got the Mrs coming over for a week. Current plan

Phase 1 Me on my lonesome Portsmouth to st malo and 36 hrs to get to Bordeaux and meet up with some lads in a campervan before the game, I'm camping.

Normandy beaches first thought en route can anyone suggest alternatives.

Phase 2 I ride down to Girona to pick up Mrs and we do 48 hrs in Barcelona.

Advice now please

Looking to base ourselves in Pyrenees for 4 days before I drop the boss in Toulouse for her flight back (and I get back to the football). Can anyone suggest a central location with decent Accm and various rides for different days.

Phase 3 and 4 = Wales game in Toulouse and long run back to st Malo

As for me I'm on my GSA normally ride about a 150 miles a day on the commute, sorted for the camping side it's the Accm, Pyrenees suggestions and any info with regard to security of the bike in France and Spain would be appreciated.

It's not that I can't be arsed to look, you lot have given me to much to think about

Thanks

The security of your bike will be fine in both France and Spain. Just be sensible about it. No need to worry at all.

As to where to stay? Have a look the very recent thread on the Pyrenees, with its associated routes.

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showth...iendly-Spain-official-routes-in-The-Pyrenees-) which will bring you to: http://www.moturisme.aralleida.com/uploads/files/pages/guia-ang.pdf Which would be near enough perfect for you.

Also have a look at the Ride magazine routes for Spain and France; you'll be able to cobble their suggestions together for sure.

Sort or Tremp? Well located. Plenty food options.
Campo, was good and only 152 miles from Toulouse ...but not much in Campo, 1 restaurant/bar, 1 bar (hesitate to say Tapas as food was not typical Spanish standard).

I think you have 36 hours (I assume a normal day and half, with an overnight stop somewhere?) between getting off in St Malo and arriving in Bordeaux. Depending on what roads you intend to take, have a look at how long you intend to spend ogling the D Day beaches. It's about 350 miles door to door direct, without going via Omaha Beach which is a deviation in the wrong direction. Still easily doable but give it a bit of thought first, perhaps?

St Malo to Omaha Beach is about 130 miles direct, roughly NNE, while you want to be hooning near enough South.
