Went out for a ride this morning got up at 9.30 but deceided to give the frost a chance to clear, so after walking the floorboards for an hour I eventually hit the road:clap. Heading out the blessington road as far Donard and then turned off for Glen of imall.I skirted around the range :mcgun:mcgunfor a while couple of nice tracks around there. I then went to head up the back of the pub just past leitrim cemetary. About 200 yards up what was a fairly rough track the road disappeared under water, whilst deceiding wether to tackle what was a fairly deep looking pool I noticed an army 4x4 behind me. He advised me that some of the water on the road was up to five feet deep so with this in mind I headed off and drove randomly around for a while before heading off toward rathangan to get petrol to my suprise Rathangan isnt the urban metropolis that I took it to be on my OS map. :blastManaged to get to Baltinglass and after refueling deceided that 100 miles was enough for one morning and headed home. Great to get out for a good spin and for a change it didnt involve Sallysgap and Glendalough. Will post photos when I figure out how.

Good man, that is a beautiful part of the world.

Flash and myself went ramblin there last Sunday.

I bought the book on Military Road, it is quite an interesting read. History, Geography, Politics and Economics, wih some Agriculture. Where would you get it?

Were you actually on the army land when they stopped to help? If so, then it's good news for us...

Wasnt actually on Army land litterly just at the fence, I think the pub I turned up behind is called ma fentons. It appears to be a public road but was impassible for cars. Maybe a bike would have got through but lookin back I am glad I didnt take it on. Whilst the Army fellow was advising me not to go down, he was really telling me in a mannerly way to turn around. Given the state of the road I wasnt going to start discussing rights of way with him. I also noticed all the forestry gates in the area were open but decided against going up any bar one short one which I knew.
