I've bought a Halvarssons suit and the blurb suggests the Outlast liners will help to keep you cool in hot weather and warm when the weather gets cool.
I'm off to Spain in a couple of weeks and I expect it will be hot. Never having used this stuff before, I am wondering will I be be better off leaving the liners in place, or should I leave them at home?

I think the 'cool when hot' part of the equation is a bit misleading - it may be able to regulate a little but it will not be as cool as would be with the liner out. Unless the liner has some kind of refridgeration mechanism built into it! At least mine doesn't!

Outlast can do a good job of keeping your skin temperature within certain limits. It'll be interesting to hear you get on with it. I've got a pair of socks containing Outlast and they do an excellent job of keeping my feet cool inside my TCX Infinity boots when it's in the mid 20's.

On my recent Euro tour, temperatures were for the most part in the mid to high 20s and I was glad I'd left the Outlast liner at home and made full use of the vents in the jacket.

However, on the days it rained, I wished I'd brought it along and stuffed it in a pannier. Whilst the ambient temperature may still be ok, the combination of rain and windblast made me get very cold. I was wearing long 'technical' underwear under my jacket and trousers.

Stick it in the luggage just in case, i've tried mine in and it just stops the air flow which defeats the object for me.

Thanks for the input Guys. It does go against the grain to use liners in hot weather, so I will take your advice and pack them just in case (space permitting)

I also have a Halvarssons jacket and trousers with the Outlast liners. Last year we went tp Morocco with temperatures in the high 30's C. I absolutely bolied and took the liners out and only use them now to keep me WARM. I would go with a very thin base layer for hot weather. This will help avoid that clammy feeling when the mercury rises.
