Something in my inbox is preventing outllook express opening up. I think it is a corrupt file, as I don't appear to have any viruses. I have got round the problem by putting inbox.dbx in the recycle bin and allowing outlook express to create another inbox.dbx.
The question is, does anyone know how I can open up the corrupt inbox.dbx to retrieve individual emails? Can I convert it to another format to read? Can I use another programme? Or what?

Any answers gratefully received

Some tips here (or just google) http://www.oemailrecovery.com/repair-outlook-express.html

But... (Judge what else could you expect me to say!!) you really shouldn't be using Microshaft software.

Mozilla Thunderbird is an incredible email client much better than Outlook Excess. Not only is it free but you can bolt on extensions to make it do extra things.

And then, while you are at it, dump Internet Exploder and go for the newly release version 1.0 of Mozilla Firefox. Again it is free and it can be wizzed up with some cracking extensions such as weather icons for your town on the status bar, download managers, mail checkers (even for Gmail). You name it, it will do it. And there are very very few sites that it won't work with.

... then get yourself a copy of XP/2000lite and nuke the rest of the nasties uncle Bill insists you run.

I'm plucking up the courage to go Linux.
