Outlook Password for datafile

I'm putting my 7 year old dell out to grass and am trying to move all my emails over to the new pc. When I try an import the datafile it's asking me for a password. I've tried everything I've used in the past and present but it just spits me out. I know there's a couple of pay programs that will recover the password but is there a freebie that works? Looking for a recommendation as I'm not keen on letting any old program near my nice clean pc. Or is there another way?

I presume you can access the datafile fully on the existing machine?

If so, try creating a fresh datafile, on the existing machine, (without a password) and copy/paste all the folders from the old one to the new - then import from that.
