Over reacting maybe

I put in a "Y" piece last week and also done the "steptoe" mod.(r1150gs)
Thing is my exhaulst pipes "seem" to be another colour.
What i mean is they are now a blue.But cant be to sure what they were before.
The MPG has increased, im sure. So does this sound right to you!!, or is i over-reacting.

No cat = less breathing restriction = leaner burn = hotter gasses = hotter exhausts? side effect: more MPG. Just a guess loik FI re-coding prolly helps too.
