"Overhauled" Zumo

You pays your money....

Think worst case - can you afford to be without it in 366 days time if it goes belly up???

Anyone brought an ovehauled Zumo? I've seen them on ebay for a good price. They say online they are as good as new, including a 1 year warranty.... Any experiences?

I've had 1 x 2610 , 1 x 2710 and 1 x nuvi newly overhauled units all ok.
you get the standard warranty so no worry's :thumb

I reckon you can't lose with one really. At least you know it's been thoroughly checked and tested. If you think about it, somebody has bought a brand new one, and had problems with it. They've sent it back to Garmin who've had to find the problem, fix it and make sure it's 100%. I doubt the brand new one's straight out the factory get looked at that closely. If they did, then you wouldn't get any overhauled ones being sold. You also get the same manfacturers warranty as a brand new one, so where's the risk? For me it was an easy decision. Had mine 6 months now, and not had a problem.:thumb

As good as new, maybe better as each one is fully checked over apparently. If returned units are cosmetically marked then they get a new case. Contents of box include latest mapping and all the mounting parts, DVD etc that come with a new unit. Box will probably be a plain non retail one otherwise no real difference.

I wouldn't hesitate if the seller is a Garmin stockist and there's a price advantage over the cheapest price for a new one.

Biggest problem with returned Zumo's is probably some bad firmware update or the battery that was bad.
In most cases just a good reset (or in worst cases a new battery) fixed that.

So in my opinion most overhauled units are probably just fine! :thumb
