Again, on a 100 GS PD, should the rear sub-frame and pannier racks be in gloss or satin finish please ? Both need re powder coating, and just wondering what is the correct, original finish.
Also, same question for the Rocker Covers ( not the rounded ones of course !)- at present they have been gloss painted, but they don't look right to me, so should they be satin finish too ?
And I guess powder coating will be more durable than a paint job ?

Sub frame and rack should be in a satin finish. I always feel they look odd in gloss black.

There are some great finishes in powder coat now. The guys I use for powder coating have a finish that they call matt nut is pretty close to the original finish on the bmw's. I have my engine cases, airbox and handlebar levers done in it, they look very good for it as well.
