Painting chrome

my bike has one chrome pannier rail and one black one
can't stand odd things (why am I riding a beemer then )
So chrome the black one or black the chrome ones
my preference is black the chrome ones as I don't really do bling

any suggestions flat the chrome to key, prime and paint
any special primers needed ????

you'd be better off taking it to a chrome platers and having the chrome stripped. They often don't charge for this or just charge a minimum amount.

I reckon that if it is a DIY job then mitric (HCl) should do the job.
