What paint have you guys used on painting an Airhead frame

I know stove enamel has been used in the past

Has anyone used Hammerite spray cans with good effect

if so did you used an undercoat............any good rust prevention stuff

I do not want to have the frame powder coated

or have it done professionally - after all it is only an "old" Airhead

I used hammerite on Bertha. got a good finish but I had sprayed with a can, i think the paint may have gone on a bit thin. It has been ok for the past two years but when I do it again I will do it better . It is good though for a quick cheap job and you can touch it up easily. I didnt use any undercoat.no probs with adhesion .

I used high-build spray undercoat on the really bad bits of the frame, where i had to chip bits of rust off, and then spray satin on top-seems to have worked very well so far and sticks better than without an u/c
