Paints

How hot? What metal?

Exhaust headers? - Specialist manifild paint rated up to 1300 degrees C can be got from Halfords, as can 'ordinary' high temperature paint for engines etc.

Painting your mudguard, pretty much any commercially available spray will be ok, but it depends on what's on it already unless you primer it first.

Went to my BM dealer, because in various places, including front engine cover, paint is bubbling away. One of the guys in the valeting section gave/sold me Sperex Engine Enamel paint (£4.99). Looking at stuff he'd worked on, it looks identical to the silver on the engine cover and is heat resistant (what it says on the tin, that is). Apparently Halfords sell it.
