Panier Repair

Guys,
The top of my OEM r/h pannier has developed a split on the top face near the mounting point. Can anyone suggest a good way to repair it like plastic welding or something?

Sorry, I'm an Engineer by trade so I have to call that a bodge. Does the job no doubt, but duct tape, seriously !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
