I am having a Remus Y-piece fitted whilst the bike is in at Blue Bell for its 18k service..

I have standard system panniers.. has any one had any problems with the standard can on the y-piece and panniers melting?

I know there were problems with some aftermarket cans..

Cheers

John

Deffo !

Dont Underestimate the Heat from the End of the Exhaust
Particulary if you have a Y piece fitted .
I insist on an exhaust extension with the Caja sahel Panniers
i make exhaust extensions for Std and remus.
Unfortunately there is no where to attach them when using std Panniers.
I have seen some very neat Heat deflectors fashioned in a
oval shape clamped to the end of the Exhaust just to deflect the heat.
BMW do a std. heat shield , which in honesty i dont think much of. But do investigate . Particulary if you are planing a long trip.

Have a look HERE , I had absolutely no problems with mine but some have. It all depends on the gasses exit angle out of the end can.
