I've been looking at pannier liners for a 2014RT, the BMW look good and expensive, but came across these, KJD LIFETIME inner pannier liners for BMW R1200RT LC, anyone tried them or have other suggestions apart from bin liners.

Bought some KJD pannier bags 4 years ago for the GS adv aluminium luggage....great bags, really robust/well made & seemingly waterproof too.....:D

We have used "Mane Event" bags for about and found them to be very good. Probably not as robust as the BMW bags but they do the job at considerable less cost.

I have recently bought a 2013 RT 90 year edition machine which came with the three genuine BMW inner bags included. Did not know they were there until I got machine home. I have found them to be very good quality and fit for purpose. I know the 2014 items are about £85 each compared to £70 each new for my model - would these fit your machine? Could maybe pick up some good second hand ones on eBay. Extortionately expensive prices for new items.

Weebiggles.

Autobump , I had a 14 Rt but rejected it for a refund . I had bought a set of planner liners from www.maneevent.co.uk which are unused . They fit the Rt14 and K16 . If interested e-mail mail me at alan.johnston [email protected] . They cost £ 95 ( from memory ) will accept £60 posted .

Purchased some in April for the new RT LC, two side and one large top box liners, used them for six weeks (in a K1600) I wanted soft expandable liners and not the rigid (BMW) type. They don't really look much for the money, then again they are just bags, however these are manufactured from top quality materials, very light, extremely well made and very, very strong! Better still, when filled, they fitted perfectly filling the entire panniers with no gaps!

Whilst away I filled these bags daily, expanding them to their maximum capacity (and beyond) purposely to test them and in particular the zips, as from experience it's often the zips that go first. If you do fill them to capacity you will have to lean/push against the side pannier lids to make them close, not an issue (I never realised just how robust the RT / K16 panniers are!)

They are real easy to carry, load and unload. Indeed you will be the envy of the majority of other bikers, especially on ferries, where you will unload or load in seconds, allowing ample time to sit back and watch side show, as the majority of other bikers sweat and struggle.

No, they're not cheap, but as with most things, you get what you pay for. Having used and tested them to their limits I would highly recommend this brand of pannier liner.

Pannier liners KJD v. Mane event

AHaywood, is your very positive experience with pannier liners referring to KJD branded ones or the Mane event ones?

I am about to buy a set and the Mane event ones look astonishing value at ~£110 for a set of 3 but the brand is new to me.

Comments and or recommendations welcome from others also.

I got the BMW inner bag set with the RT LC voucher, not used them as yet but seem well made decent kit, if expensive compared to third party manufacturers.
