Pannier rails

I've just bought some second hand pannier rails for my R850gs but after fitting the left hand side I cannot now get my key in the lock to remove the seat (yes the spacer is there) and on fitting the pannier the rear hook sits about 5mm off the rail. I thought all the rails were the same is this correct. If the rail was 5mm higher the pannier would fit perfect and I could get the key in the lock. Any ideas?

The rails were purchased from Sherlock so presumed they would be correct.

Sure you've got the two rear bolts in the right? Sounds like you might have top bolt in the bottom hole!!

Hi both rear bolts in correct holes. The right pannier rail is the same it sits low on rear pannier mount/hook.
