Pannier Welding

Due to a mishap I have broken one of the lower mountings on a BM expanding pannier on my 650 Dakar. To weld it I need some plastic of the same sort. Anyone got a trashed pannier or other suggestion?

This is a common problem with the 650 Vario panniers. I'm guessing you need the same type of plastic for the welding job? and you lost the tab.
However there are a couple of other ways to fix them.

You could use fiberglass resin mix, or you could make up a metal replacement bracket, pop riveted to the case. I did the latter with a second supporting plate inside.

If plastic type is not an issue, you could use a piece from anything that is substantial enough, and could be cut to shape.
