I'm hoping to upgrade to some ali panniers and have cut the field down to a choice of H & B or Civil's. The H & B panniers are a little cheaper than Civil's but I know that's not always a good guide.
Any comments before I spend my hard earned? Feel free to abuse if you really have to after all it would be boring otherwise!!

:)

Just look at the pics of Margus's crash in Poland to see the way that Civils panniers took the impact. Margus has said that the panniers helped to minimise the injuries to himself and Kariina.

Were I in the market, I know which I would choose.

I think Civils are better built, and much stronger. The only drawback is that there's no quick-release mechnism.

So the tea-leaves can't get 'em off so quick then? :thumb

I sold my H&B's for £427+ p&p a while ago on ebay to fund a set from civil, never looked back. :D

Also, as for the quick release, he's working on it now.

I have H&B expedition panniers, very nice, good fixings, but i don't think they're very good for 2 upriding, and they're heavy, apart from that i've no complaints.
But after seeing a couple of sets of civils panniers at princetown , i'd buy civils given the choice.
