Panniers

Reminds me of an old saying:

"The Irish have 20 words that mean the same thing as the Spanish 'mañana', but none of them manage to quite convey the same sense of urgency" ;)

I had Metal Mules on mine, a bit expensive perhaps but tough as old boots and really easy to take off and put back on in a jiffy.

I use Hepco and Becker Gobi's on mine.....extremely sturdy and top-loading....and stores stacks of stuff! :thumb

p.s that's my bike but not me,obviously

Nice bike Ice Queen. I do believe that they are the very same boxes, sorry, I mean panniers that Nick has on his 1150, much prefer the look of them to the metal ones :thumb

Hopefully i have a buyer for my BMW panniers on my 05 650GS, after thats sorted I was going to place an order for some touratech ally paniers as im off to morocco next year. Then i saw this. I'd rather give the small company the business to be honest. Whats the deal at the moment please? I've checked the website, no prices (probably a reason for this so forgive me). Got this info from f650.co.uk. cheers

Although these may be more what Civil is looking for,(Jesses) flippin big though.

No Wider than the handle bars

None of them match the capacity , and the same width as the handle bars.
The Panniers can be had in uncoated alluminium ,or powder coated in a choice
of colours , there are latch options , and more.

roughly how many pennies are we talking about for a set of these tasty panniers?

i'm currently thinking of mules, i'm just put off a teeny bit by the price.

Whilst we're on the subject, does anyone know with certainty if Metal Mule panniers will fit Touratech frames on a 650GS? I'm guessing they're all standard sizes seeing as they have to fit the same bike, but dunno for sure. :nenau

I've no intentions of doing long duration travellling for some time to come, so use a set of H&B Junior panniers. They are unobtrusive and practical for me at present. If I were to think about getting alu panniers I'd give some serious thought to making my own in a style similar to that used by Helge Pederson with the chamfered outer lower edge.
