I'm waiting for the 2016 promotions to be released. This year they had a 5 night deal across most of their hotels for E575 which looked a good deal.

Has anybody any experience? Any pitfalls?

Stayed in Paradors before but not in last 5 years. The 5 night deal is great way to save money (€115 per night this year) and you can always upgrade on arrival (get a rooftop room at Ronda!). Can't remember having any problems.

Lovely way to see Spain and experience local cuisine at each one. For those not in the know, Paradors are (often) old interesting buildings (castles etc.) saved by the government and made to pay by becoming hotels. There is one inside the Alhambra at Granada (but you have to book years in advance!). They do 10% off if you're over 55.

Stayed in two or three and have found the rooms to excellent value.

Food expensive though, earlier in the year the Parador at Sos del Rey Católico was charging 16 Euro for brekky.

Doing a tour in November around southern Spain using Paradors. Staying at the one in Alhambra for £60!! Ronda is £40, most of the others around the £50 mark for a room. Average weather is British summerish so hopefully it won't rain!! I never eat in them, too rich (and expensive) for me. Impresses the hell out of the wife who normally has to camp!!

Not all the paradores are the same: different categories and different prices. Normally not worse than three star hotels and some times better than five...
You need to check first. Dont assume that all paradores are fantastic.
