We're off to Bilbao in May to ride the TET towards Portugal.
Rather than ride to Portsmouth from York we'd like to trailer the bikes to save the tyres for the TET.
Parking is looking expensive (for two weeks) and I'm not sure if the options we're looking at will accept a car & trailer.
I'm hoping others may already have looked at this and could share their experience, thoughts or recommendations.
Much appreciated.
Karl.

A Google of: ‘vehicle storage near Portsmouth’ throws up several websites, have you tried them?

Portsmouth is effectively an Island linked by a few roads in and out, namely the M275 (causeway), Eastern Road (again, a causeway) and Hilsea/Copnor road.

The city is mostly row upon row of brick terraced homes without driveways. Its densely populated and real estate is very limited. As such, off-road parking anywhere is bloody difficult to find.

You might be able to park outside Portsmouth somewhere such as Cosham or Portchester and drive in from there, knowing the crime rates (especially if the travelling community are active), I wouldn't bank on any unsecured vehicle being safe.

Have you considered a 1 way van hire?
This.....Enterprise have branches in York and Pompey, a large van will be c £150 one way to hire....worth a look ?

Hello
Just park 10-14 miles away leave your car in a safe residential street (covered by CCTV ) and leave trailer in the back garden of a fellow UKSGER ?

If I had space I'd offer it as I live eleven miles away, but sadly I live in a small cul-de-sac with limited parking and no room to store anything.

You don't want to leave your trailer at my house in Hedge end ?But the man from York ?

Be cheaper to ride to Portsmouth and then buy some new tyres for the trip.

Wapping's idea is good or a local farmer or transport yard.

Thanks all, useful info and ideas there.
Preference is car & trailer and pay to park for the two weeks. I'll widen the search to beyond Portsmouth.
And, this place is great eg info above, and direct messages from a member to park the car and trailer at his place, unfortunately the dates didn't work.
Cheers.

Port Solent at Portsmouth has a large car park, you could ring and ask for the security officer and see what they say.

Contact or of the boat dealers/chandlers at the marina in Port Solent. They have extensive parking areas there for boat owners cars and trailers. They may allow you to park there for a fee
