Parking/security in Briancon

In august we are going on a weeks trekking holiday in the Alps, from Briancon.
To make it a bit more exciting, we are travelling down there on the GS.
The hotel we are using for the first and last nights of the trip (organised by a UK trekking firm) wont allow us to park the bike there for the week we are in the hills.

To that end, does anyone know the town well enough to know where we can park the bike for the week we are away (some kind hotellier or some other parking lot at all) ??

Just a thought the petrol station is a small bike dealers Ktm i think we always have a look around after filling up they are always very pleasant and keen for a chat! They might be able to help you out!

Parking in the walled part of Briancon is VERY restricted.

There is a huge public car park Champs du Mars. Take a chain and you'll be fine.

Lots of free parking at the ski lift stations, too.

He's making his entire holiday a bit more exciting * by going on his GS. Excitement that is now being subdued by the thought of leaving the bike somewhere. Time to take the train, fly or (as you suggest) get packin'.

There's plenty of parking around the complex housing the Police Station in Briancon, I've left my bike parked there for a few days without moving it, also done the same further along the valley in Montgenevre. Never had any issues, the whole place was busy with camper vans and caravans and tourists milling about, good safe area.

Left field idea - this place is 5k's away, Camping de La Clarée, and you could ask them if they'd let you park your bike there for the price of a tent pitch per night. Or book a pitch, take a tiny tent, check in, and leave it and the bikes on your pitch for the week and go to the hotel.
