Has anyone else had problems with their passenger complaining that the gs 'whistles' annoyingly when seated on the back? The wife says that the bike is really noisy, so much so that she doesn't want to go out on it. I have the standard screen, which I have tried in numerous positions and am also running tobinators, but nothing seems to cure it. Any ideas? :nenau

We have had similar problems: too much noise due to turbulences both for me and my girlfriend. In you case, I would argue that if your wife hears 'whistles' it means the noise has high frequency content and may be caused by air flow via a hole in her helmet (maybe the ventilation inputs).
Have you checked that? She can also try to alter the wind flow around her helmet with her hand to find out where the problem comes from.

I use the Wunderlich Ergo screen and custom made earplugs (can't live without them anymore). The problem is reduced substantially and made riding with the 12gs much more enjoyable.

This why I had to part with the GS and now have an RT.

A woman on the back of your bike... Are you completely mad... Next you will saying you take her on holiday or something silly like this...

My gf would love to go on the back but as it is environmentally unfriendly - i.e. reduced fuel efficiency, more tyre wear... not to mention the fact that it bollocks ups the handling and you have no room for duty free in the panniers cos she has 7 million pairs of damn shoes in there...

Get her to do some knitting or something - you know it makes sense :thumb
