PC sound

Hi IT Guru's
Here is a good one for you to ponder.
When I use my PC all is well and dandy everything works, but if I leave it so the screen saver kicks in then wake it back up I get no sound output. The pc does not even acknowledge there is a sound card fitted. But if I re-boot the pc all is well again.

Any ideas?

Describe the screen saver package device thingie you have loaded please.

This is not a normal & is causing an internal hardware issue.

Just using the standard windows package (XP sp3) I am using the screen saver on slide show. Hope this helps.

Try playing music on it, letting it go to screen saver and then wake it up to see if it loses the sound then.

What video card? I hear there are some issues with ATI cards and sound.

K, as you are using normal screen-saver within xp.

Check your device list in control panel for sound issues, it will have an yellow icon by the device.

As turbine as indicated, maybe update your sound card driver & video card driver.
