Rang PC World (no)helpline last Thursday to see if they had any Garmin Quests left. They had one in Bangor (NI) :thumb . Drove 70 miles to buy it  . They couldn't find it!!! :eek
Told me they would ring me when they did. Rang (no)helpline back today - now they have none in stock :spitfire :spitfire
Can't contact shop direct :spitfire They didn't contact me back :spitfire
Have written email asking for an explanation. wonder what my chances of a positive reply are

Not a lot. :(

I emailed PC World 3 weeks ago to ask if they could tell me which of their stores had any left. They replied last week to tell me it was no longer available at any store.

Bunch of useless :tosser :tosser if you ask me!

Tried to ring a PCW store yesterday but the 0870 number only got me to a call centre and the operator, with a distinct West Mumbai accent, would not let me speak directly to the store. The resulting three way conversation was a farce with him insisting there was no Quest on the computer inventory and me telling him there most certainly was one ex-display model available. Anyway, think I may have found a way to circumvent the system - will post later

I've been a saynoto0870 user for some time and as you probably know from the site PC World has been extremely proactive in discouraging the search for their geographic numbers. The site does throw up a Freephone 0800 number that is quite helpful but still puts a third party between you and the individual store

Anyway, I did get lucky and with the very kind assistance of Dutchman I believe early this morning I got the very last £79.97 Quest in the UK

So Kritou, It was Dutchman who was in the Edinburgh Corstorphine store this morning at 1000. He has your Quest I think. I went through to get it for you and my salesperson was checking the stock when Dutch's rep was taking the last one to him in store.
All ends well...you got it.Who says the Scots are selfish and unhelpful. Just dont tell me it was complete and undamaged!

I feel a bit of a heel now! Just hope the weather didn't make your 100 mile round trip too much of a grind

I too am a Scot by birth so will buy you a beer when we come through on tour in September. Thanks again for your heads up re the Quest - will let you know what condition it's in

Well the last (?) Quest arrived with the postie this morning. It's in perfect order bar a missing mains charger - will go cap in hand to Garmin for that

Thanks again to CONDORPILOT and Dutchman for their help

I work in Bangor and asked a couple of times when the price was £200 and then £80. They always said they had none and didn't have any on display since last summer when they were full whack.

I did hear a nasty rumour (unsubstantiated) that discontinued stock is salted away....bought up by employees and then appears on e-bay. Can't blame them I suppose since the pays not so good.
