Both of my classics.

One Puch Maxi N, recently completely stripped and powder coated red for SWMBO, who wanted a bright red one!

The other is a much rarer beast, a KTM Hobby, which is basically a Sachs 504. When I was 15 my Dad bought a bright green one of these (PBT 88P) from a friend of his. So my introduction to two wheeled life was one of these on my 16th birthday (1st June 1981).

Neither are going to break any speed limits (except maybe a 20mph one!) but they're great fun, easy to work on and parts for the Puch are very easy to come by. A ning out (the technical term for riding a two stroke moped that comes ning, ning down the road) to a local pub on a sunny day is a delight.

The plan is to take them to Holland next May for a weekend of laughs with like minded ninging fools.

Both are registered as Historic, or perhaps Hysteric, and can therefore have black & white plates which I think would finish them off nicely.

It's the blue one without its engine fairing on. A 1957 Rabeneick Binetta. It signalled my return to biking as the missus let me buy it since it "looked pretty" an additional four bikes later and I still love her. It's got plunger rear suspension, alloy rims.

You talk about a big trip, longest I've done on mine was 100 mile to Birkenhead and back I even through in a ferry crossing! Best thing I ever did. The run blew all the shit and crap out of the down pipe and silencer. It's run like a dream since.

There's a lot of interest in 50 cc step throughs and I've recently seen NSU's priced at £2k so hang onto both of yours and enjoy.

Steve
