I have bought a 99 GS1150, its a runner but has done 90 odd thousand miles and looks a bit worse for wear.
I have owned many bikes but never a BMW, I bought it as a wee project to keep me busy although can confess here really like riding it!
Although she is rough all over the worst bit is the engine paint, everything else can be powdercoated or painted easily.
At the moment the standard engine paint just peels off in large chunks.
What can you suggest is the best way to remove the old stuff and make it look its best with some new silver.
It looks to be a fairly common problem with well used bikes.

Thanks for any help.

I've mentioned this a few times, BMW do a spray paint and laquer for this job. Used it on my old 1100 and it was like new. Any BMW dealer should have it, or be able to get it. Good luck.
