I've just found these cases, they look to be ideal for putting on the back of the GS for occasional use, but seem a bit steep for what they are?

http://www.pro-cases.co.uk/

Are they worth it? or are there other cases worth looking up??

thanks,

Nathan

I got a 1700 for my Hecklers and it does everything you need, not too heavy either.

There was a bit of delay on my 1450 though, so I just kept the Glocks in a portabrace bag, which was OK, but flimsy compared to the Pelis.

Got several Pelican cases for camera gear, they would be ideal for the duty. Top quality kit.. :thumb2

we sell peli cases

I have to order about 2K's worth if you know which you want I can get you a cost.

Or you could try here

Peli products UK... up in Glossop.... may be cheaper than going to a distributor?

Had a 1450 on a previous 1150GS.... mounted it to a TT top box mount... Thinking of doing the same thing again ;)

IMPO Pelis are in a league of there own, fantastic quality, totally waterproof and from memory with a lifetime guarantee.

Caribou Luggage Systems in the US use them as part of a full luggage solution for various bikes including the GS.

Like everything else they have their imitators which cost less and Sealey are currently offering a range like the Peli as part of a Christmas promotion.

Pelicases are a top bit of kit.
I come across the odd 1450 every now and then through work and tend to stock pile them in the garage.
Got one in place of the rear seat on my 12 using the adaptor kit.
Big enough to carry everything I need when not touring.

just had a rumage about the old interweb thingy

at our trade price we're £12 more than the cheapest internet place which is called casemarket, suspect they must buy tons more than we do :blast

do a google search and I'm sure you'll find it:thumb2

we buy directly from Peli.

+1:thumb2 for the Peli's. Use them a lot at work, yet to see one break.

So if one were to want a pair of Peli sidecases of reasonable capacity but that don't make the bike untra wide, what would you recommend, how do they mount, do you sell the mountings and what sort of cost are we talking for the whole set?

Bearing in mind that if it is a choice between buying from an unknown web seller or a UKGSer, I for one would prefer to spend the extra £12...:)

well we just buy the boxes to put all my video rubbish in and we get a good discount every now and then I like to sell a few on to keep my discount in place. We're not a dealer to make money from it I did it cos I'm a selfish git for selffish reasons Peli are the best product for my job on the market.

the case we use the most is the 1550 I've got a couple did think about making a mounting frame but .... and here's the but if you find my I've been welding thread you'll probably run a mile from any mounting system I'd design.

I'll have think about the hanging bracket but I'm only a humble vidiot who uses the kit.

but have a look at the peli website it'll show the cases and dims:thumb2

1550 is a good size without being too big nothing worse than having a case you can't carry when full

I've just have alook at the rack on my 1150 and making something similar would be simple enough the link above shows the 1550 cases which I was on about.

Peli also now do a suitcase version of the 1550 which has dividers in it, better for organising yourself on a trip.:thumb2

Also the frames need to be detachable so the rail system needs a mounting plate rather than the hanger matey made for the KLR.

similar to a V lock which would also be simple to make using the same tensioning mechanism as used in quick release wheels for push bikes, as it'a plate you could then use paddlocks to attach the two plates together.

I could get one of my lads to workout how much it would cost as a package deal if anyone is interested, but as I've said I'm not in the manufacturing business. The frames would be the expensive bit and the mounting system might as well buy a set of Verns boxes cos they won't be much cheaper I don't think.

I've just got meself a pre owned 12gsa with a peli case attached to the top box and was wondering what they were all about! I assume the previous owner didn't store side arms in it! can you get custom foam inserts?

I've got the caribou setup on my dakar. I've had the setup for about two years now, The cases are excellent :thumb2

Ultrasound, you should be able to get a set of 'pick and pluck' foam for your case, all you need to know is the case number

On the subject of Peli products, I have never used them on two wheels as I rather enjoy & have the Metal Mule.
However I do use Pelicases when not on two wheels and find that they are very robust and a super bit of kit, rather than go for the pick n pluck I use and prefer the bespoke foam inserts (these do cost £80 more for the initial tooling) this is ideal if you are carrying the same items of kit in the case on a regular basis otherwise the pick n pluck is the next best thing.
