I’m on holiday in Morocco and keep on getting this message on screen to which I always respond by clicking on ‘Don’t Use’.

It’s getting to be annoying, it’s so persistent that I’m wondering if it’s a scam, and that’s the last thing I need out in the sticks in Morocco, far away from my usual trusted chap in town at home.

Should I be worried?
TIA :beerjug:

If you are in Morocco it means that iMessage stopped working probably because the change of network/carrier.

The message is genuine, the phone is trying/wanting to re-activate iMessage with the current phone network, but since this includes sending a (paid) SMS it asks your authorisation to do so.

If you don't want the phone to send any activation SMS and don't care about iMessage or want to get rid of this dialogue, you should be able to turn off the iMessage option from the phone settings and the phone should stop asking this (I'm not 100% sure, the way iMessage works or doesn't is not always that clear).

But not a scam.

Thank you for your prompt replies, job done. I’m a bit more jumpy about the possibility of getting screwed by perfectly innocent stuff like this while abroad, so ready help like this is much appreciated.

Thank you very much. :thumb2
