Petrol Reserve Light Always On...

After replacing my fuel filter on the 24,000 mile service, I found that petrol reserve light is always on and the petrol guage bars have disappeared too.

Before I strip it down again and have a good poke about I am wondering if anybody else had this problem. I suspect the the float is trapped down, but is there an alternative?

Remade the connector on the R Hand side of the tankby the bolt?

Might have bolted the fuel pump incorrectly, at the wrong angle?
