Hoping to fit the large Adventure tank this week - what are the points to be aware of when stripping the gubbins from your old tank and relacing in the new one?
What bits should be replaced with new?

Hi Jim

You got a silver tank, did you? I wonder where from......

To fit it, I would get hold of:

Filler and fuel pump O rings
A pair of QD couplings for the fuel lines
A non return valve and length of fuel line for the cross piece (let me know if you find a supplier for the valve)

I didn't bother to replace the O rings as they shrink back to size if you warm them. It would have been much easier with new ones.
Removing the tank is much easier with QD's and the length of fuel line which connects the two lobes will let fuel transfer to the L/H side when on the sidestand so a non-return valve will prevent this.

HTH, but get in touch if you need anything else.
