Can anyone recommend a good quality photo printer. I have a HP deskjet printer but I want a dedicated photo printer.

thanks

The first question is "how big do you want the pictures?" :)

I've got an HP 5550c which comes with a "photo print cartridge" which replaces the black cartridge and gives damn good results. I've printed A4 photos from that on Ilford Glossy Photo paper which gave great results.

Real dedicated "plug in to the camera" photo printers tend to stop at around 7 x 5 inch prints, I think.

Epson or Canon the A3 ones have individual ink tanks for each colour, very handy since the yellow is used in every print so gets used up first, the A4 ones don't have individual tanks, I have an Epson 1290 A3 photo printer and it is excellent but look at the Canon 9000 i think it is, that has individual ink tanks and is a very fine printer indeed.

HP Photosmart 7960 is meant to be good and not too pricey..

but good photo printers cost a bomb..

i ahve a hp 2000Cwhich prints pretty good photos on photo paper..

but im not looking for perfection..

inks are reasonable and last well..

but my priter is an older version.,. not suer on the latest 2110c i think..

regards
