Can anyone recommend a good map of the Picos (Spain) tried finding one of the Michelin ones but had no luck so far.

Lu and I are off there next month and although we'll be taking the GPS's it always nice to get a map out on the table.

Cheers

Paul,
Best one is the Michelin 442 Cantabria map, which is 1:4km scale for routing, but David's 1:25 is good/better also

Also buy a Spanish 'Green' coloured map, by a local called Micheal Andreas or something like that, it is a really small scale one and has all the trails marked and covered.
You'll only be able to buy it there and the bookshop/stationers in Potes always had a stock of them

WH Smiths normally stock Michelin 572, I bought one a few weeks ago.

1cm = 2.5km - seems to have reasonable detail

Paul, I have a 1:50 000 map of the Picos. It covers a bit more than the area between Cangas de Onis and Potes, If you want borrow it I'll bring it to Llangollen.
But you will also need something to cover the wider area and the tourist shops are full of them although I guess you need to do some planning etc.

David, John, Johnny, Nick and Tim many thanks for the links and info/advice :thumb

I've ordered the maps so, it looks like the highlighter pen will be out soon :)
