Picos-Pyrennes

Planning a trip there with fellow bikers originating from Barcelona and returning there. All in all 8-9 days riding. The question here is wether the Picos offer anything different than the Pyrennes otherwise we will limit our trip westwards to Bilbao or even San Sebastian and concentrate to a large extend on the french and spanish pyrennes. Any thoughts or good routes are most welcome.

Different scenery, although still mountains so not that different! Picos is quite a small area really.

There are great mountain roads around Barcelona. For some even better roads in a much less populated area, head south fromn barcelons to the Maeastrazgo. Look for Cantavieja.

I wouldnt make a special trip to see the Picos as its quite a small area as already said. It is however VERY scenic, it's up to you... Personally on your timescale i'd stick around the pyrenees.
