Update

Well, a big thank you to all who offered advice and recommendations.

The weekend was fantastic: and what scenery!! We stayed in Upper Solva in a nice B&B. On saturday we walked the coastal walk to St David's. When we showed the B&B owner's our planned route they laughed in or faces and sure enough the planned 15 mile hike never happened as we averaged about 1 mph as the crow flies what with the serpentine curves of the cliff top path and numerous photo stops. Lots of nice landscapes, althouth I don't know how to add them to this thread as they a quite big jpeg files. unfortunately, not the flocks of birds I had hoped for and so we plan to return for a May bank holiday with a big telephoto, binoculars and bird-book and tickets to Skomer island!!

Weather was great, food was great, hospitality was great. Those of you who live there lucky bunch!!
