Back in the Carpathians... once bitten you never l
There must be one of our highly talented constructors who would be able to make a set of pillion peg lowerers for a better price than those on the market!
It looks like there are quite a few of us who would be willing to buy a pair in the interest of biking bliss!

My beautiful lady has to hang her legs down to stop the base of her spine hurting...apart from that she has taken to the GS...but future bliss depends on solving this

i am looking for a set to go with a ADV with ally boxes...but I am sure they must be fairly standard.

Come on the challange is set! If anyone can help give me a shout.

Gavin

I have the Wunderlich pillion peg lowering kit, which according to the missus, is bliss.

On the weekend I saw some aftermarket peg lowering kits on an 1150 which I thought were made by the rider himself. He informed me that they were in fact made in the USA and were half the price of the Wunderlich ones.

He also had them for the rider as he is a tall fella and the peg lowering mounts were bending after he had done a fair bit of standing, whilst riding.

In short, it does seem that you pay for what you get.

I have now seen threee types of footpeg lowering kits on GS's and I've concluded that the Wunderlich ones are the most expensive, but, for robustness and looks, they seem to leave the others trailing far, far behind.

Mick.

Ps:- the small of the back pain that your missus gets, is exactly what mine had, until we put the lowerd pegs on that is!

Oh, go on then

How much lower/further forward/further back do you want them, and how rich are you:D and I'll see what's kicking about in the shed. Can the whole alloy peg mount be lowered as one piece, or do the evil mWb panniers not fit then. I suppose it needs just the peg lowering. Ever considered a smaller woman:rolleyes:

Well taken!

Vern,
Thank you for taking up the challenge!!
With the pathetic BMW panniers...(I was about to make contact and order some of yours for the old bike before I bent it, but the new one came with these ..so will have to live with them for now!)
the footpeg mounting plate is integeral to supporting them. So it will have to be an extension for the pegs.

As my lady is actually 1500 miles away in the Carpathians at the moment ..it will probally be best to wait and sort the dimensions until she is back here on 13th November! As you are going to look at custom making them - then it would be good to get them perfect. I will get meaurements done then if it is ok with you.

I am not sure if the actual peg size is different on the case set mount as Wunderlick list a separate unit for GSA with alu cases.

I will take pics and exact measurements - and let you have them.

I think this would be the answer to a lot of peoples problems....cheaper than divorce on the grounds of loving a ****ing uncomfortable bike!!

And no a smaller woman would not be the answer...my transylvanian princess is custom built and a perfect fit!!:D went a long way to find her!

As to my wealth I am not a rich man...especially with all the commuting I am doing! but a fair price especially in the name of love!

Cheers
Gavin

Expensive, but worth it...

I got mine from Verholen and they transformed the bike for my pillion. She's not so tall (5'4"), but even so, the extra legroom worked a treat. Fitted OK onto an Adventure with Vern's boxes. If someone could make a set cheaper, it would be worthwhile - I winced a bit at the cost of these jobbies.

Just a Idea Gavin,,, why not put a seat extension or one of those airbag jobbies on the back to cusion your Lady and lower her legs by raiseing her up ??,.:tigger

I had mine made to measure by Danny GSI on this site. Dropped the rear pegs by about 75mm, cost me just 40 Euro. Send Danny a pm of your requirements. Top Man:beerjug:
