Hi Can anyone point me to a website that doe the luggage plate that fits to the pillion seat please.

Thanks for that. I am actually thinking about making a fuel cell to fit on there, Can you get the bmw fittings, themselves to use on a flat plate.

... BWM produce a conversion kit to fit the Vario top-box adaptor plate to the pillion platform.

... An aftermarket luggage plate, perhaps in aluminium, would probably make a more adaptable starting point.

You can look at www.hattech.de, they do a flat ally plate with the fittings to go in place of the pillion seat. I have one of these and the quality is very good.

talonfs - thanks for posting details of the hattech site. That ally plate is just exactly what I was looking for and couldn't previously find. I was even talking to a toolmaker friend of mine today about custom making something similar.

Anyway, thanks for the 'heads up'. I shall be ordering one tomorrow.

No problem. :thumb:beerjug:

I also have their replacement rear rack with a Givii plate, the rack itself is made from s/s and has 2 really good chunky handles and a much stronger platform for a topbox.

Hi Civil, what would be the chances and price of one without the holes and without the coating, just plate in alloy and the bullet conector ??? oh and preferably straight cut corners (sorry to be a pain):aidan

I can then use this as a base for the fuel cell

Do a search 'probably Google' for the: Iron Butt rally. I saw something relating to fuel cells for various bikes including the 1200gs. One guy had done just what your thinking of.

I can't remember where exactly I saw this, it was quite a few months ago.
