As the title suggests, me and some friends are hoping to do the big loop east north west then south, and home again.
Has anyone got any really sensible tips on travelling this route? We know of the Visa situation for Russia, so thats sorted.

Anyone done it before? What can you tell me about the journey?

Be aware that there is no motor crossing of the German/Polish border at the coast - you will have to duck south to Szczecin (Stettin)

Baltic Sea

Did it in -07. In Poland don´t miss the Malbork castle or Hitlers Wolfschantze.
Sigulda region (Townhouse and castle) in Latvia is nice, also called the Baltic Switzerland.Stay off the big roads and experience the real countryside.
Watch out as the traffic is really dangerous, especially in Poland with Mercs, BMW:s and horses on the roads. No problems with money now as there is ATM:s everywhere and VISA-cards are accepted.
