Plastic frame plugs (that cover engine bolts) Should I have them on both sides?

I'm just about to start fitting some engine guards to my F800gs and this involves replacing the long bolts either side of the frame that support the engine. On one side I have to remove a black nylon push-in plug but on the other side there isn't one there.

Can anyone confirm that there should be a plug fitted either side please?

Should be. But some can work themselves loose or out completely.

Okay thanks. The bike was an ex-demo (nearly new) so I'm surprised it's missing but I'll pick one up from the dealer next week.
