I find it interesting that people who are new to GSing and have a F650 all say that it's so easy to ride and so forgiving. It's so much fun and so flexible, the only real shortcoming appears to be fast motorway work.
Then you find the other posts with more experience people saying it's so capable, it handles brilliantly, on the right road you can scare sports bikers, scrape panniers etc., it's amazingly capable off road and lastly of course the people who are doing the genuine intercontinental tour on the same machine.
Someone at BMW certainly got it right

I've stood in a bar at a meet and talked to business people, techies, oil workers, truck drivers, market gardeners and church minister (only one that I know of), mechanics and with just about every occupation in between. They were all UKGSer's. Fantastic
