Hi all,

is there anybody that can send me a copy of CD 3of 3 of City navigator 7? I seem to have misplaced it and can't install it on the laptop I will be traveling with.

Yes I know its dated but it works best with my Street Pilot 3...

Many thanks in advance!

Contract Garmin support in the UK, and if they feel like they will send you a new CD. Did that for me once.

Bearing in mind that we are now on Version 10, will Garmin send him a Version 7. :nenau

If you're really up cack-street I may have an old one floating about, but I have a feeling I chucked the old ones when I downloaded Version 10.

SORRY HAD A LOOK BUT HAVE 5, 6, 8, 9 & 10. NO 7 FOR SOME REASON.

This question has come up before, but I don't think you need the "freek full install of CN7"? Someone with more braincells will set you straight though.

I went straight from Version 7 to Version 10. :nenau

my problem is not the update but the actual initial install. John you willing to send the CDs out for the price of postage?

Thnx

I can't guarantee that this will work but ISTR that you can install directly from an update disk without a prior install by doing the following:

1/ Insert the disk and let it bring up the install screen.

2/ You'll need to select one of the install options but then exit/cancel at the next stage.

3/ Now double click 'My Computer' and then right click the Update disk in your DVD drive, then select 'Open'.

4/ Double click CN.msi which is the English install, other languages are denoted by the country code (i.e. CN_ITA.msi - Italian) if required. This should install the mapping and Mapsource onto your PC.

5/ Obviously you will require a suitable unlock code for the specific mapping you have installed and this code will also need to be matched to your GPS to enable the successful uploading of mapping data to that.

6/ The version of Mapsource will be out of date and you'll need to update it here.

If you do have a previous install there is no need for sequential updating, you can update from any version to the current version.
