Llandovery..... both eastern and western approaches.....

look out for cops up trees with speed gun!!

hard to believe but true....

T5s hidden up side roads, cops with speed guns in laybys, both sides of llandovery speeders pulled at road blocks or in llandovery and taken back to scene of crime for booking:eek:

apparently they have spotters in llandovery who radio ahead to the ambushers whenever bikes are setting off in their direction...

overkill or what!

take care

apparently this operation has been going on for some weekends now....

and its all for our own good, of course:augie

regret my buddy who got caught :)() up in this was too busy waving his license goodbye to take fotos!! (they used handheld radar in his case, altho they also had tripod mounted laser/video devices covering both directions, and at different times handheld radar opereated by wooden top in tree top!!!!

so lets see, just trying to work out manpower invloved

thats 2 min in laybys
two T5's and crews as spotters
two crews to collect offenders and return to layby plus processing, say 2
any advance on 10???
Saturdays and Sundays

I think they taking this quite seriously, don't you?

I was in Llandovery all weekend and saw several groups of power rangers wheelying through the town on Sunday morning, both from the railway line to the West End and from the West End through the Castle Hotel squeeze and on to the Myddfai turning - on my way home at about 4.30pm I was passed by another group - they were probably doing 120mph+ (along the motel straight) and wheelying as they went - great skill but!! - I wonder why the police take such action

One of my mates in the South Wales force says they know there will be a biker fatality along the A40 on almost every sunny weekend - they have to try and do something - the actions of a few spoiling it for the majority :nenau

Darwinism in process, but understand the police have to try prevent it due to civilians maybe part of an accident. But a bit of intelligent police work would surely identify the true culprits.

I was there on Saturday evening and didn't see 1 copper. Mind you I wasn't looking up in the trees. :D Did someone actually see a copper up a tree? Sounds to me more like a mischevious bored copper feeding someone a line. Personally I can't believe that they have coppers up trees - Elf & Safety boys would have a screaming fit.

I can see a flaw in your plan. :D Only joking boys. :thumb

Exactly. Some love to draw attention to themselves - then complain when the Police notice them - and give them a ticket. :augie I was by the West End Cafe one sunny Sunday when a Police car stopped outside looking for a particular rider who was having a coffee. It turns out that his wife was riding down in a separate group to meet up, she failed to keep a bend and was killed. Not pleasant.

Yeah, I hate speed cameras too, but lets not forget who gets to clean up the mess and break the news to the families.............

Certainly not the people who get the revenue off said cameras:confused:

I think most coppers dislike the gatso's as much as the rest of us, not just for what they do, but for how they have been used to replace real cops on the streets, whilst doing nothing to stop all the other areas of dangerous driving asside from a numerical speed limit over a few hundred yards stretch of road.:rob

If there are real coppers stopping motorists at the time of the offence then isn't this what most of us say we want anyway?

the young lady booked for 104mph who had to wait for the said copper to climb down from the tree would agree that H&S issues seem to have been overlooked!!

only reason for posting this info is that the police, of course, will book anyone exceeding the speed limit and do not discriminate between so called power rangers, and decent hard working, serious minded sensible riders of bavarian machinery , who would never ever dream of exceeding the national speed limit, especially where this might cause their ews to fail:augie
