Despite millions of pound spent by Leeds council on road revisions only a few busses and cyclists have benefited, its so bad one can only assume there is a policy to force cars off the road. They did made on serious error when the left turn traffic island was installed at the Pool traffic lights.
For years the traffic backed up to the bottom of the hill but after the change it was possible to ride up the inside and turn left from half way up the hill, a massive improvement.
Now to suit a politically correct, ignorant and bloody annoying minority the inside lane has been changed into a cycle lane.
That's right, thousands of cars can just sit and wait while a dozen people cycle up the hill. It is dangerous and several motorcyclists have been killed over the years, the only safety change for us is a 30 limit and a solid white line.
I would not wish any harm on the cyclists, is a tough climb, the cycle lane is a good idea for most of it. If only the cycle lane stopped a few hundred yards short of the junction it would suit everybody, as it is it stops about twenty yards short.
Bloody council, trying to reduce their emissions by the daftest methods. I drive to work at 7.00 down the ridiculous Kirkstall road. I manage 70 mpg in my TDI Seat. On the return through congested traffic I sit and look at empty bus lanes and only manage 32 mpg. So the misguided policy is actually doubling my pollution.

and i bet several of those millions was spent on consultants who cut, copied and pasted the 'plan' from another based elsewhere.. (thats what they're doing in Harrogate)..
They should be made into tarmac!!
