My monos not been running too well recently so I whipped the heads and barrels off to see whats amiss. Turns out the exhaust guide on one cylinder was badly worn preventing the exhaust valve from seating properly.
The bores have a little wear but are well within tolerance - not bad for over a 100k.
The only strange thing is a mark in one barrel, it looks like an impact mark but there's no marks on the piston or combustion chamber to suggest anything has rattled about. It's above the ring line so I'm not to bothered.
A lunchtime session on the bead blaster at work does wonders for stripping off the gunge.
After hearing Bakerlongerlegs and Pastymans comments about scriminger I've been in touch and will ship the heads off to them for the work to be done, they seem really decent folk to deal with.
