portugal. oliveira do hospital

hi, jane and i are heading off to portugal next year and we're looking to base ourselves in the serra da estrela area for a few days. A town ive been looking at is Oliveira do hospital. has anyone been there and any thoughts on the place. any other recommendations. we like small towns with a few restaurants and bars, nothing too lively, cheers

Twig, Manteigas is a nice wee place to stop, not too lively.. with a tosser endorsed hotel.. www.hotelberne.com

Yup ... Recommend that thar Hotel Berne

Great place indeed, reasonable price, excellent service. The roads surrounding are a motorcycling Nirvana
