so did the deal and got a late 2014 ZE demo from dealer, had a little dally around SW Norfolk today and very impressed, feels sure footed on the move and the linked brakes seem to do away with all the dive so usual with a weighty bike, screen a bit short for me but does well width ways, can turn head without buffeting

need to work out the buttons and displays but am told it get easier, once in the S mode it seemed to pick up well anyway

I have exhausted my credit with the missus so farkling maybe restricted for now, mind should make a packet on fuel as its twice as frugal as the previous bike!

Hi, welcome to the forum, got my White ZE at the start of the year and done 500 miles so far, 70 today (100mph as well for the 1st Time:rolleyes:), loving it so far so planted and comfy. You had better not start farkling as once started down that road it will take some stopping, believe me rear hugger, front fender extender, rear brake pedal extension, sat nav holder and mirror wideners (well one put on but the right side is very tight and i cannot shift it, i know its reverse thread but i dare'nt put any more muscle into it so will get the shop to do it when it goes in for its 600 mile service), see what i mean:D
Enjoy the ride
P.P.

Nice one!

More people are starting to realise what a first class bike the S10 is. Still the most under-rated bike on the UK market at the moment imho.

Enjoy the bike but it's useless to try and resist the farkle urge!

Have you come across http://www.yamahasupertenere.com I think you will find it interesting

I think you bought the bike I test rode three weeks ago it only had 140 miles on when I returned it to Adam he offered me a great deal on it then had to retract his offer after speaking to his son who had already taken a deposit on it so I missed out.

After a further chat with Adam we agreed a deal on a new one for March 1 (none E model) I don't like either of the 2015 colours and would not have bought the bike but Adam managed to find me a brand new Blue one so I am now less than two weeks away from my first brand new bike since an AP50 in 1976.
I also know another local guy who's got a blue one for the 1st of March, strange thing is I have only ever seen 1 other S10 on the road locally a silver one last summer.

thanks for the replies

under rated is right and under reported too, having had bikes a long time including large GS's and a KTM and also thinking I new the market pretty well I only came across the S10 via the dealers a while ago, it had passed me by totally in the magazines and MCN etc since it came out, and I had never seen one on the road either.

I guess as a low sales bike the magazines don't give it as much exposure as the more well known machines. When you do see a test report they can only comment on it being a bit low on power (how often do you need more than 95hp?) and a bit pricey (maybe true but if the reliability pans out then it soon evens out).

Its so easy to ride and will plod along at low revs in any gear, it seems true that the engine config seems to handle this better than the flat or V twins where the low revs pick up gets shaky as the pistons don't run smooth.

I think the holy grail of something a bit different, decent spec and proven reliability is where this thing is at. I sense this type of bike with an adventure/tourer type mix is selling more now than the classic big faired mile munchers, who knows the word may spread?

ZED1000 - I think he has a few going out 1st March, maybe we will see a few in the area now!

Would three local S10's be enough to form a new East Anglian UK-GSer S10 sub section !!!! joking

If you are around on the 1st and the weather is not horrendous Richard and myself should be out putting some miles on our bikes in order to get to the first service, intend meeting up for a coffee at some point in the morning your welcome to join us if you are available.
