Here and there, now and then.
I recently had my GS1150 (Y piece, K&N, standard silencer, CCP removed) Dyno tested, (78hp, 74ft-lbs) the results showed that while all is well at full throttle openings things are running a bit lean at smaller openings, I have on occassions noticed a bit of pinking at low speed. The people at Dynojet suggested fitting a Power Commander, but at around 400quid it's very expensive.
Has anyone got one of these fitted yet?
Was there a noticeable improvement in performance and overall running?
Was it worth the money?
All comments except the sarky one's appreciated. Thanks.

....Or a Techlusion R259, which is about half that price......?

Try the Steptoe link first - wish I had!

Thanks, I think I'll try the steptoe mod first, but do I have to do something with taking out a fuse and switching the ignition on/off? what is the correct sequence?

Ignition off, whip out the CCP if fitted (not in our case I guess). Stuff in the jumper. Remove fuse 5. Whistle 'God save the Queen' or something like that and then stick the fuse back in. On with the ignition and fully open the twistgrip twice.

Sorted.

Thanks for that, I've now fitted the wire and been out for a ride, so far no sign of pinking, engine seems fine at highly illegal speed, still an occassional backfire. I'm going to get it dyno tested again ASAP, I'm curious to see what difference there is. Will post results.

Try scanning the before/after printouts when you're done.

I've got the K&N, Remus Genesis race can, R1100S inlet manifolds & a Superchip fitted. 85.55bhp & 70.1ft-lbs with slightly rich fuelling in the mid-range but moderately lean at the top/bottom ends - well within acceptable limits though.

I tried the Steptoe link but it was poorer than the "no CCP" set-up I've got so it got whipped out again. I've adjusted the TPS to 330mV from the 340mV it was originally set at, so that the richer fuelling occurs further up the rev range. It still runs sweetly at lower revs, but keeps pulling further up the revs now. I'll see if I can get it Dynoed while I'm at the TT.

Before any of the above changes, I took the bike into RGM at Tarleton (you may remember Roger Walton explaining about Roy Gardner from S'port Superbikes) & got him to set the valve clearances & balance the throttle bodies. He also cleaned up the injectors, etc & made a significantly better job than I've ever been able to at home, & I'm well practiced at it.
