Power cable problelms

I have a Street Pilot 2820 and the brass tabs on the connector at the end of the power lead are funked.

Is it worth cutting it off and replacing it with the one on the end of my 13 amp mains cable which is rarely used?

Anybody any idea how much a replacement is from Garmin - or even if they are still available?

the lead for the zumo is around 25 gbp so maybe around the same?, i would just buy another, as splices are always a weak point imo.

I was short of a bike power lead for my 2820, and as I remember I just cut the plug off a mains lead and wired it to the battery via an inline fuse...

... and I'm sure it's fine!

I made myself a lead from the car speaker/ charger from my 2610

Worked grand and just plugged it into the DIN plug on the beak
