Am interested in getting a Power Commander to try and iron out the flat spot between 4 & 5000revs.

Which one best and where from? Onlyseen the Dyno one at £350 which seems a bit pricey??

Cheers

I use Accelerator module (Similar to booster plug) and it improves smoothness a lot, I also fitted de-cat headers and that also helped with low-down power.

Also Hilltop Motorcycles near Mallory park can remap stock ECU and those that have been along seemed very impressed. I think cost is similar to power commander, but on my last bike the results were a bit better and it saves the hassle of trying to fit another bit of kit to the bike and having more to go wrong.

Ive fitted decat headers already and it seems to have made the 4-5k vibe margin worse?? Poss due to lean mixture?

Have considered the ECU map but i think to spend that sort of money, for me a Module would be better that i can carry over to the next bike when the time arrives.

I got it from a dealer here in Sydney... Booster plug 2, I think you can get them from the website???

Doesn't increase power but makes everything less choppy and more useable. Particularly notice the smoothness when rolling throttle on and off - cornering, slow riding etc.

I have no affiliation to this company. I thought one of these might go some way to solving your troubles without the hassle and expense of power commander etc...

Booster plug only works under a change of throttle and not a steady throttle.

A Power Commander 3 requires disconnection of the lambda probes, a hilltop remap does not. The newer PC5 can self-teach with the relevant lambda probes purchased from PC but the setup is very expensive, making the hilltop remap cheaper than PC5 with PC wide band lambda probes. The earlier PC3 states 'for offroad use'.

Also, a remap is basically invisible to an insurance assessor, a power commander is obvious in the event of a claim assuming you haven't declared the modification. Failing to declare a modification will invalidate your insurance policy, and a declaration is liable to increase your premium in the current insurance market. Caveat emptor.

I have a PC3 and sports headers sat in my garage, haven't fitted them yet, I will most likely wait until renewal time then get some quotes with/without.
