hi all just wondering if anybody out there as fitted a power commander to there standard bike just for getting better fuel econmy any info appreciated many thanks neil

I wouldn't bother unless you are planning on removing the cat, the fuelling is fine as standard and changing the can has little effect or no effect on fuelling.

A few chaps have done it over on...

http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/

I have had mine on the dyno and stock they are a shade weak down low and a shade rich up top and I doubt just a remap would give a big gain.

The other issue is they are restricted in 1st - 3rd in lower gears at low revs, something a power commander cannot resolve as the restriction is caused by the fly-by-wire throttle bodies - but an ECU remap can both improve fuelling and remove the fly-by-wire restrictions.

A few companies offer this - again see other forum.

And if you have not already done so try the clutch switch mod to see a big difference in low down grunt for next to no cost :thumb2

Plug a 10p 10A fuse into the clutch switch ( mod ) and hang on for dear life in gears 1-3 !! Best mod out there and beats the £100's you're going to spend on PC etc !!! Forget about anything else !
